Lori, don’t worry. Everything is going to work out for you.” These are the words that my realtor, Tom Sommers, would say to me when I began to feel discouraged during the tough housing market. I needed to sell my house and find a new one; with a full-time job and two kids, this was no simple task.

After all, I already had my house for sale the previous year, with a different realtor, for 9 months. What was the result? Not one offer on the table. So I knew it was time for a change, but after 100 showings and no offers, I worried that my house would never sell.

I just wanted to take the time to drop you a note about Tom Sommers.

In March, my wife and I sold our town home in Eagan and bought a house in the same city, about two miles away (from the town home, not from each

other!!) We had previously used Tom as the realtor on the purchase of our town home and didn’t hesitate for a second to contact him when we decided to buy ourselves a house.

To say that we enjoyed working with Tom would be an understatement. He was constantly willing to go out of his way to help us out and make time available to answer any questions we may have had or see whatever houses we wanted to (assuming they were up for sale). He had a great personality, was fun to hang around with, and we always felt like he was doing all that he could to make us happy with both the sale and purchase side.

While I realize we, for a lack of better word, ‘employed’ Tom to help us, by the end, it felt more just like a buddy trying to help us out and that made the whole process a lot easier to deal with (as I’m sure you can appreciate how frustrating it can be to buy and sell a house).

While I could go on and on, I think you get the point. I thought it was appropriate to make those aware that should be aware of Tom’s contribution to both myself and my wife as well as to Edina Realty as a whole. His hard work and dedication was more than appreciated and I felt should not go unnoticed.

I would highly recommend Tom Sommers as a real estate agent. I had originally listed my property at the begining of January this year with another agent. By the end of May I had not gotten much interest in my property by perspective buyers. When my 6 month contract expired I hired Tom instead.

Tom put together a state of the art collection of sharp photos of my property, which he posted on the internet. In today’s market prospective buyers start their search for new homes on the internet. Tom’s presentation stood out from the others. I was amazed at the number of showings that resulted. He knows what needs to happen in order to get a home sold in this tough market.

Dear Tom,

This is a letter relating my experience with another realtor and with you.

I began with another realtor and was frustrated. He was disorganized and unprofessional. I had to remind him of things and he had the house on the market quite a while with no results. He never seemed to be sure about the right amount to charge for the house.

I saw Tom’ s brochure after about 3 months struggling with my other realtor. Tom had sent it knowing it was time for me to begin with a new realtor. I liked the brochure showing a husband and wife team and the slogan “stop dreaming, start packing.”

Tom was so professional and we had an instant rapport and it was great working with him. I just enjoyed him personally, so it was pleasant.

The house was on the market 6 days and it got sold with Tom! I guess that speaks for itself.
