I was looking for a realtor and a house I liked popped up in my neighborhood. I called Tom and we looked at 2 homes that evening and I put offers on both homes after seeing them. Our experience with Tom was great. He always answered any questions that we had and was very good at telling us things and answering questions we didn’t know we had. For many years I had many people tell me I should invest in a house. In 2003 my girlfriend suggested “We look into a house so a had a room to keep all my guitars & drums, collectibles, CDs & records in addition to interest rates were at an all-time low, since the 50s” I thought “Ok, then it’s time to look into this” I had known Tom for some time by this point and he had informed me recently he had switched from Insurance to Reality. So I decided to give him a call, was I glad I did.
Tom could not have been more accommodating and patient. I believe we looked at some 24 houses in 3 to 5 weeks. Then one day we stumbled on this townhouse in Eagan, I just fell in love with the layout of the townhouse and it was not too far from where I worked in Burnsville. Now I will admit the place needed a little fixing up, ironically Tom had a lot of experience in home remodeling and was able to offer many suggestions and ideas on how to address and fix these problems affordably.
Some examples being obtaining inexpensive paint from “Paint Liquidators” in Minneapolis 612.310.1302 and inexpensive building materials, tile, carpet & cabinets from “BMO” in Eagan 651.454.8840. So not only was I able to much of the work myself, with the help of Tom’s experience & suggestions, I was able to get most of the materials for the projects at a discount and stay within my budget !!! Now, I can’t speak for anyone else but to me, this is going above and beyond the job description of your average ‘Realtor’
I have been in this house for 9 years now and 8 of the other houses occupied by my neighbors are now some of my very best friends, 2 of the families are just like family to me, I have spent many holidays with them. My point if I had not called Tom and Tom showed me this townhouse, and then gave me useful advice on how to address these small problems I saw in this potential home, I would not have met some of the best people in my life !

In March, my wife and I sold our town home in Eagan and bought a house in the same city, about two miles away (from the town home, not from each
other!!) We had previously used Tom as the realtor on the purchase of our town home and didn’t hesitate for a second to contact him when we decided to buy ourselves a house.
To say that we enjoyed working with Tom would be an understatement. I would highly recommend Tom Sommers as a real estate agent. I had originally listed my property at the begining of January this year with another agent. By the end of May I had not gotten much interest in my property by perspective buyers. When my 6 month contract expired I hired Tom instead.
